Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced the disbursement of funds under the Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dheeyan Satkar Yojna in Abohar.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced on Sunday that the state government has sent ₹1,291 crore to the bank accounts of more than 37.43 lakh women. Speaking at a public gathering in Abohar, Mann said the funds were distributed under the Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dheeyan Satkar Yojna, according to the Hindustan Times.

The Chief Minister stated that the scheme aims to support women's financial independence. He noted that 80.05 lakh women had registered for the programme as of October 29, 2026, with a target to reach one crore beneficiaries.

Following this latest disbursement, the total amount distributed under the scheme has reached ₹3,934.80 crore. This follows a previous payout of ₹2,643.71 crore to 76.35 lakh women. The government has set an annual assistance target of ₹12,000 crore.

Mann said the next instalment is scheduled for December 1, with another payment on January 1. He described the January 1 payment, which will cover three months of assistance, as a New Year gift.

To assist with the registration process, 1,37,723 Satkar Sakhis have been engaged. The government will provide ₹51.30 crore in incentives to these workers, while Anganwadi workers involved will receive ₹25 crore in incentives.
