Japan-based global digital transformation and IT services company NTT DATA discussed plans to expand its operations in Mangaluru and Udupi with IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge on Monday, according to the Deccan Herald.

The company, which recently acquired Karnataka-based Niveus Solutions and WinWire, cited the availability of skilled talent in the coastal region as a key advantage.

Minister Kharge discussed the state's Sustainable Data Centre Policy and the proposed Mangaluru cable landing station with the company.

He suggested that NTT DATA explore expanding its presence into biotechnology, healthcare, life sciences, and automotive manufacturing to align with Karnataka's industrial ecosystem.
