Fire breaks out at Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation headquarters in Thane
Records belonging to the civic body's health department were destroyed in the blaze, though no injuries were reported, according to the Free Press Journal.
A fire broke out at the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) headquarters in the Bhayandar area of Thane district on Monday morning.
According to the Free Press Journal, the blaze started at around 8 am and caused panic among those present.
Firefighters reached the MBMC building and doused the flames in less than an hour, a civic fire official said.
While no injuries were reported, the fire gutted the records of the civic body's health department.
A short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire, and an investigation is currently underway, the official said.
