Kashmir Zone Police penalise 3,000 traffic violators in two weeks
The enforcement drive included the seizure of nearly 1,800 vehicles and several bookings for rash driving and triple riding across 10 districts.
The Kashmir Zone Police have addressed 3,000 instances of traffic violations during a two-week road safety campaign, according to reports by Kashmir Observer and Daily Excelsior.
The enforcement began on October 17 and covered 10 districts within the Kashmir Zone.
An official stated on Monday that nearly 1,800 vehicles were seized during the period.
The police also booked more than 500 cases for rash driving and 450 cases involving triple riding.
A police spokesperson said that the actions targeted offences such as stunt biking and rash driving that put the lives of citizens at risk.
While traffic police have conducted motorist awareness drives since the start of the year, they have now moved to penalising violators.
