Shubman Gill conducts long net session at Eden Park

India captain Shubman Gill completed a three-hour practice session in Auckland while Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma skipped the nets.

India captain Shubman Gill undertook an extensive practice session at Eden Park on Monday, according to the Times of India. Gill, who missed Sunday's session, spent nearly three hours performing batting drills and fielding exercises.

The session included throwdowns and an extended fielding drill overseen by spin-bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule. Gill also practised catching from various positions, including slips and high catches near the boundary ropes.

KL Rahul was the only other designated batter to participate in the nets. Rahul began by practicing as a wicketkeeper before batting alongside Gill, after which he left the session.

Other senior players did not participate in the net practice. Virat Kohli completed a gym session at the venue and left without batting or fielding, while Rohit Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad remained indoors.

The Indian squad is expected to have one collective training session on Tuesday. The five-match series is set to begin on November 4, with India training in the afternoon and New Zealand holding a morning session.
