Houthis claim drone strikes on Saudi Dammam airport and Jizan targets

The Iran-aligned group said its operations disrupted air traffic at Dammam airport and hit military infrastructure in Jizan.

The Iran-aligned Houthi group claimed on Monday, November 2, 2026, that it carried out drone strikes against King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and military sites in Jizan, according to reports by Pragativadi and The New Indian Express.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree stated that the group targeted Dammam airport in two separate phases using two drones over a 48-hour period. Saree said the operation successfully achieved its objective and caused a disruption of air traffic at the airport.

Saree also claimed that Houthi forces struck an early-warning radar installation and a military transport aircraft located at Jizan Airport in the southwest of Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi-led coalition announced on Monday that its air defence forces had intercepted and destroyed two drones near the capital, Riyadh. Coalition spokesman Col. Turki al-Malki confirmed the destruction of the drones on X but did not name a specific perpetrator.

The Houthis are fighting a Saudi-led coalition that supports the internationally recognised government of Yemen. The United Nations has stated that more than 1,600 people have been killed and over 300,000 people have been displaced since fighting resumed in Yemen.
