Gautam Gambhir flags inexperienced bowling attack ahead of New Zealand ODIs

India coach Gautam Gambhir noted the challenge of a bowling unit lacking experience in New Zealand ahead of the five-match series.

India coach Gautam Gambhir has identified the inexperienced bowling attack as the primary challenge ahead of the five-match ODI series against New Zealand, according to Times Now.

The coach noted that Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the series. India will rely on Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Aqib Nabi, Anshul Kamboj, and Gurnoor Brar.

Gambhir stated that this will

probably be the most inexperienced bowling attack in ODI cricket,

noting that many bowlers have not played in New Zealand.

The coach highlighted that Arshdeep Singh is the most experienced bowler with 18 matches, while Aqib Nabi has one ODI, Anshul Kamboj has one match, and Gurnoor Brar has nine matches.

Gambhir said that while India has experience in batting, bowlers win series when playing overseas, especially in Test and one-day cricket.

He added that if the team performs well in the one-day series, the credit should go to the bowlers rather than the batters.
