Apple to launch next-generation touchscreen MacBook Pro with M7 chips
The upcoming laptops are expected to feature M7 Pro and M7 Max chips designed for AI workloads, according to a report.
Apple is reportedly planning a second-generation version of its touchscreen laptops for next year, according to a report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman cited by India Today.
The upcoming MacBook Pro models are expected to feature M7 Pro and M7 Max chips. These processors are being developed with AI workloads in mind and may skip the M6 Pro and M6 Max generations.
The high-end touchscreen MacBook Pro models with these M7 processors are reportedly planned for late 2027.
Apple is also planning an entry-level 14-inch M7 MacBook Pro. This model may feature a thinner, lighter design and slimmer bezels similar to the higher-end versions released this past week.
The current touchscreen MacBook Pro models were announced on October 28 in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. These models feature PROLED XDR displays with tandem OLED technology and are powered by M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.
The current laptops include the Dynamic Island and support touch gestures like swiping and pinching. Apple stated these features can assist with tasks such as playing musical instruments on screen and manipulating 3D models.
