Amitabh Bachchan meets fans behind bulletproof glass after bomb threat
The 84-year-old actor greeted crowds from a protective enclosure at his Mumbai home following a recent security scare.
Amitabh Bachchan greeted fans from behind a transparent bulletproof glass enclosure at his Mumbai residence, Jalsa, on Sunday, according to India Today.
The actor used the protective barrier during his customary Sunday meeting with supporters. His son, Abhishek Bachchan, stood nearby and monitored the surroundings while the actor waved and greeted the crowd with folded hands.
The increased security follows a bomb threat received by the Mumbai Police last week. An email threatening to blow up Jalsa was reportedly sent to a school in the Bandra-Kurla Complex, prompting an investigation and strengthened security at the actor's home.
The unusual arrangement marks a departure from the actor's regular Sunday appearances. Videos and photographs of the interaction have since appeared on social media.
Despite the heightened security, the 84-year-old actor remains busy with work. He is currently hosting the quiz reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 and was recently seen in the 2024 Tamil film Vettaiyan.
