Kerala face Gujarat in Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match
Gujarat aims to secure a home win against Kerala at the Narendra Modi Stadium starting Monday.
Kerala will face host Gujarat in the Elite Group C Ranji Trophy fourth-round match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from Monday, according to Sportstar and The Hindu.
Kerala enters the contest following a 287-run defeat to Bengal at home. The side has struggled with a brittle opening pair, an inconsistent middle order, and an inability by bowlers to dismiss the opposition's lower order.
Gujarat began the season with a 10-wicket bonus-point win against Odisha but later conceded first-innings leads to Delhi and Maharashtra in away matches. The hosts will look to use their home advantage to reverse their recent form.
Gujarat captain Chintan Gaja said he expects the surface to help spinners in the later stages of the match. Gaja noted that Kerala has three good spinners and stated that Siddharth Desai is in good form to lead their attack.
Kerala captain Vishnu Vinod attributed the loss to Bengal to a collective team failure. He said the team will look to play to its strengths and focus on things within their control against a good Gujarat side.
