Maharashtra limits interview marks to 10 in teacher recruitment
Education Commissioner Sachindra Pratap Singh said the cap aims to reduce arbitrary decisions by private school managements during the selection process.
Maharashtra has started the interview phase of teacher recruitment via the Pavitra portal, with interview and teaching-skills assessments capped at 10 marks, according to Urban Acres.
Education Commissioner Sachindra Pratap Singh stated this limit is intended to increase transparency and restrict the discretion of private school managements during candidate selection.
The merit list for the Teacher Aptitude and Intelligence Test 2025 shows 11,493 candidates are recommended for interviews and skills tests for 10,328 private school vacancies. These candidates are linked to 27,145 total preferences.
For Classes 1 to 5, there are 1,609 posts and 4,478 preferences. Classes 6 to 8 have 4,505 posts with 10,792 preferences, while Classes 9 and 10 have 4,214 posts and 11,884 preferences.
Appointing authorities must complete the assessments between November 3 and November 25, 2026. Candidates in the list should contact their respective authorities for the next steps.
A grievance committee will handle complaints regarding the previous interview-free recruitment phase. Candidates must email complaints by November 7, 2026, and report any demands for money to the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
