VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited (A.P.-Genco) MD and State Energy Conservation Mission (SECM) CEO S. Nagalakshmi on Sunday urged citizens to conserve water and electricity.
She also called for effective waste management and a reduction in plastic consumption to protect the environment.
Speaking during the BRICS Sustainable Lifestyle Week, which is being observed from November 1-7, Nagalakshmi said that meaningful change requires individuals to incorporate eco-friendly habits into their daily routines.
The week is being observed in line with the Centre’s Mission LiFE – Lifestyle for Environment as part of India’s BRICS Presidency in 2026.
The programme includes activities based on seven themes, such as saving energy, promoting sustainable food practices, and minimising electronic waste.
Nagalakshmi stated that an action plan for these activities has been sent to officials at A.P.-Genco, A.P.-Transco, and the DISCOMs.
