Kerala Blasters coach Westwood seeks more from Indian attackers

Head coach Ashley Westwood called for better production from his Indian forwards after a goalless draw against Chennaiyin FC.

Kerala Blasters head coach Ashley Westwood said his Indian attackers need to produce more in vital moments after a 0-0 draw against Chennaiyin FC on Saturday.

The match saw Blasters player Adrian Luna miss a penalty in the second half. The result leaves the side in sixth place in the standings with five points from four games.

Westwood noted that while players like Mohammed Sanan and Korou Singh Thingujam reached good areas, they failed to deliver the final pass or cross. He added that the team has not had a month of training and includes many new players and staff.

Regarding the penalty miss, Westwood said he was not blaming anyone and noted that if the shot had gone in, the team would have won.

The coach described the clean sheet as a positive, noting it was the third in four games. He said the team is defending well against a tricky Chennaiyin side.

The Blasters will focus on fitness top-ups starting on Tuesday, November 10, before beginning tactical work ahead of their game against Goa on November 29.
