Crime Branch finds Kerala PSC questions copied from online handbooks
A fresh case has been registered following allegations that 45 questions in an Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector exam were taken verbatim from online materials.
The Crime Branch has registered a new case after finding that 45 questions in the Kerala PSC Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector recruitment exam were copied verbatim from online study material handbooks, according to the Deccan Chronicle on Saturday.
The case was filed on Friday following a complaint by Rahul Raj, a resident of Perumbavoor in Ernakulam district, against unidentified Kerala Public Service Commission officials.
The FIR alleges that the irregularities allowed ineligible candidates to be selected in the rank list published on 2 September 2024. It also claims that two extra courses were added as eligible qualifications before the application deadline and candidates failing physical standards were included.
In a separate case registered on October 28, the Crime Branch has named the PSC chairman, members, and officials as accused regarding the Fisheries Extension Officer recruitment notified in August 2020.
The Crime Branch alleged that the rank list published on 28 November 2022 favoured candidates from the Kerala University of Fisheries and Oceanic Science who were close to the chairman, members, and CPI(M)-sympathising officials.
Two more cases have been registered concerning alleged nepotism in recruitments for the State Planning Board, Khadi Board, and Village Oil Inspector posts.
