Ranchi and East Singhbhum to see security and traffic curbs for JTET
More than 104,000 candidates will appear for the Jharkhand JTET examination on Sunday across Ranchi and East Singhbhum districts.
According to Urban Acres, more than 104,000 applicants are scheduled to take the Jharkhand JTET examination on Sunday in Ranchi and East Singhbhum. A total of 65,754 candidates will appear at 101 centres in Ranchi, while 39,060 candidates will appear at 93 centres in East Singhbhum.
Ranchi SSP Rakesh Ranjan said candidates will undergo frisking and iris scans for identity verification. Magistrates and police personnel will be deployed at every examination centre in Ranchi to manage crowds and conduct searches.
In East Singhbhum, authorities have imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita at all 93 centres. Deputy commissioner Rajiv Ranjan and SSP Ehtesham Waqarib have directed officials to ensure the secure transportation and distribution of question papers.
Question papers and answer sheets will be moved from the district administration’s strong room to centres under security cover. The distribution and receipt of materials at the strong room will be videographed.
Traffic restrictions will apply within a 200-metre radius of Ranchi centres, while heavy vehicle movement will be restricted between 5am and 11pm. Buses have been exempted from these restrictions to allow public transport to continue.
Police intensified searches around Ranchi centres on Saturday, and hotels and lodges were also searched in Simdega. Officials have been directed to monitor social media for fake information regarding the examination.
